Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Kristin (she/her) - a queer fiber artist currently living in Lenni Lenape/Canarsee territory in now called Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. My work centers around interdependence, repair, and connection. I like to work at the intersection of usefulness, beauty, and revolution. I find inspiration in place-based work, in connecting with the local NY Fibershed, other fiber artists, native plants, and making relationships with the animals I source fiber from. Some of the artists who inspire my work are Robin Wall Kimmerer, Mary Oliver, Christi Johnson, Clara Parkes, Katrina Rodabaugh, and Nina and Sonya Montenegro, among many others. I’ve been knitting for over 25 years and am particularly passionate about knitting socks (non-superwash!) and stranded color work using local fiber. I also loves visible mending, natural dyeing, spinning (drop spindle and wheel), sewing, and dabbling in many other crafts. I work at Brooklyn Craft Company and teach knitting there as well as at Brooklyn General Store and 1:1 private lessons. I’m also an ex-actor, a writer, a singer, an avid learner, a cat mama, a survivor, a beginning gardener, partner of a kick ass musician and an organizer doing work with SURJ NYC. I’m a member of the Hudson Valley Textile Project. Leo Sun, Virgo Rising, Virgo Moon. Connect with me at @kpmadethings on instagram.
